The Frames

Perfect Songs' catalogue of work by Glen Hansard and The Frames has been expanded and re-released with two new, deluxe CDs from Union Square Music.

Released next month are expanded editions of the band's Fitzcarraldo and Dance The Devil albums, each adding a brace of extra, rare songs.

Fitzcarraldo features classics such as Revelate and Say It To Me Now. On the strength of this album, Time Out declared them “Ireland's best band since U2”. And Hot Press reviewed Revelate as “this year’s Everybody Hurts... a stone cold classic.”

Dance The Devil - with its songs Pavement Tune, God Bless Mom and Dance The Devil Back Into His Hole – was hailed as “an enthralling, chilled-out listen” by Music Week and was praised for its “shimmering greatness” by the Irish Times.

The Frames were founded in 1990 by Academy Award-winning songwriter Glen Hansard. In 2006 he also formed The Swell Season with Czech singer Markéta Irglová. The pair then acted in the Irish film Once and wrote and recorded its lead song, Falling Slowly, which won a 2008 'Oscar' for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture.
