Chris Braide

Chris Braide is one of UK pop's foremost songwriting talents. In 2009 alone, he scored three #1 albums thanks to songs written for Cheryl Cole, JLS and Westlife, all of which reached double platinum status.

Chris' song catalogue is vast, including award-winning, million-selling #1 hits in both the UK and the USA for artists as varied as Diana Vickers, The Saturdays, Leon Jackson, Jesse McCartney, Kylie Minogue, James Morrison, Beverley Knight, Paloma Faith, Alesha Dixon, Ronan Keating, and Pixie Lott.

Perfect controls all of the songs on Chris' first two solo albums, Chapter One and Life in a Minor Key. Produced by Thomas Dolby and Mick Hucknall, Chapter One was recorded for Polydor in 1993.

In 1996, Chris signed a solo deal with East West Records and released the singles If I Hadn't Got You (covered in 2004 by Lisa Stansfield) and Heavenly Rain followed a year later by the album, Life in a Minor Key which was co-produced by Chris and David A. Stewart at Electric Lady Studios in New York.

In 2003, Chris co-wrote This Is the Night recorded by American Idol’s Clay Aiken. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and became the biggest US single of 2003, selling over one million copies and reaching six-times-platinum status in Canada. Aiken’s follow up single, Invisible became one of the most played songs on US radio the following year and earned Chris two ASCAP awards.

Chris' song Anything is Possible earned him a prestigious Ivor Novello award having reached number one for Pop Idol winner Will Young in 2002, selling 1,108,659 copies in its first week and over 1.7 million copies in total. In January 2010, Anything is Possible was named the UK's best selling single of the decade.
